Welcome to 6th-8th Grade Robotics
This year’s club is open to 8 students in 6th-8th grade to learn how to build and code a robot using VEX Robotic Systems. This 10 week course allows students to design two fully functional robots and compete in the Diocese of Buffalo VEX Robotics Competition. This program will run twice a year; once in October and again in February.

- The Technology Club meetings will be held on the Thursday afternoons (with two exceptions) 10/5 10/12, 10/19, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 12/1 after school until 3:45 p.m. in the Computer Lab. Competition is set for Saturday, December 1 at the Downtown Public Library.
- Mrs. Bloom reserves the right to dismiss any student from the Computer Club whether it is for behavioral or academic issues.
- There are no after school buses for students. They must have their own transportation home.

Why Robotics???
Interested in a career in Robotics? Typically a robotic engineer is required to have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Robotic or Mechanical Engineering."A master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is necessary for many advanced and managerial positions. A Ph.D. is required for design and research positions" (source).
You can also become a Electromechanical Technician repairing and updating technology such as robots and earn an Associate's in half the time.
